A deer was mowed down by a speeding vehicle taking part in the ‘K 1000 car rally’ near Ajjakadirenahalli forest on Saturday.
The car rammed the animal which came in its way near Krishnapura plantation. The forest department staff and local people took the deer for treatment, but to no avail.
Villagers alleged that there had been an untoward incident for the past three years during the rally.
