A day after the state government issued an order capping multiplex tickets at Rs 200, exhibitors continued to charge old rates on the pretext that they have not received the order in hand.
It is not clear whether the revised fare will come into effect from Friday. When contacted, N R Vishu Kumar, Director of Information department, said that the department has sent the order to multiplex owners’ associations.
He said that multiplexes were exempted from implementing the orders for a day as they (multiplexes and single screen theatres) did not get the order copy in hand. The Information department is also taking up a public campaign through media to avoid any confusion in implementation of the order.
