'Sahasra Sammilana', the graduation ceremony of Deshpande Educational Trust (DET), was held at the DET residential skill development centre premises on Gokul Road here on Sunday.

More than 1,000 students who underwent training under Deshpande Fellowship Programme, Deshpande Koutilya Programme, Deshpande Susandhi Programme and other skill development programmes, participated along with their parents.

The fellowship programs serve to be a career launchpad for many students who cannot afford education or had to discontinue their studies due to failing in certain subjects. They are given skill-based training that enable them to get jobs in the future. The DET has scored 100% placements with its students getting jobs at Infosys, TCS, Hyundai, Hinduja Global Solutions and other companies, DET representatives noted.
