Direction to shift first grade college

The college started functioning from the government primary school building in May 2007.

The government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for construction of a building to house the college, over the past two years. However, the City Municipal Council and the Urban Development Authority have allegedly failed to allot a site for construction of the building.

The college, in which a total of 600 students are now studying BA., BBM and BCom courses, lacks basic facilities. Nine lecturers have used their personal money to make the available four rooms fit for teaching purposes.

Apprehending that shifting the college will affect the academic career of their wards, parents have urged the elected representatives to provide a site for the government college.
