Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday urged companies, factories, educational institutions, hotels and so on to provide three days (December 9-11) of paid leave to their employees who are residents of Kerala, so that they can vote in the local body polls in the neighbouring state.
In a letter written on Saturday, Shivakumar noted that the local body elections would happen in Kerala from December 9-11 and also pointed out that several Kerala residents are working in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka.
He requested the workplaces to provide three days of paid leave to enable their employees to actively participate in the election process.
