District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Rajkumar Yergal on Saturday dismissed a doctor and a staff nurse of Horti government hospital in Indi taluk of Vijayapura district for administering saline bottle infested with worms to a patient.

Dr Kori and nurse Nanda Kalal were dismissed while two other staffers Pundalik Lagali and Suresh Jadhav were suspended.

The relatives of the patient had taken the video of the worm-laden saline bottle and circulated the video. The clip went viral on the social media platform, drawing criticism from the people over the negligence of the doctor and the staff.
