While the OPD services in Bengaluru city and a few districts in the state have returned to normalcy on Friday, the situation is still worse in parts of the state including Hyderabad-Karnataka region.

On Friday, three persons including a woman died as they could not get timely medical attention. The deceased have been identified as Fathima Begum of Kadamgera, Shivaraya, both from Shahpur taluk and Ramu from M Hosalli in Yadgir taluk.

The doctors of private hospitals in Yadgir have continued to struck work because of which the OPD services in the district is hit badly.

A girl from Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district, who suffering from kidney failure, died on Friday as she could not get dialysis as the private hospitals in the town were shut following the doctors' strike. On Thursday, she developed complications and was rushed to a government hospital in Puttur, where she died a day later.

The IMA chapters of Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Dakshina Kannada and several other districts continued their strike on Friday, opposing the proposed Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Bill.
