The State BJP on Saturday set a Deepavali deadline for the State government to drop Infrastructure minister Santosh Lad from the Cabinet.
Addressing a rally here, former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa threatened to launch a state-wide agitation to dethrone Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, if he failed to drop the ‘tainted’’ minister.
“As opposition leader, Siddaramaiah had spoken against illegal mining. He also led a padayatra to Bellary on the issue. Now he is defending a minister accused of illegal mining. This shows how concerned he is about the multi-crore mining scam,” Eshwarapp said.
