Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Friday accused the Centre of meeting out step-motherly treatment to Karnataka with regard to granting funds under calamity relief.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, he said the Centre had not allocated any funds to Karnataka despite devastation in Kodagu.
“The Centre has no sympathy for Karnataka. The least it could do was to give the district the moral support it requires. The Centre has however come to the aid of Kerala. This is nothing but step-motherly treatment towards Karnataka,” he said.
Parameshwara said that the state government was presently assessing the losses incurred during the deluge, following which, it will seek assistance from the Centre, he
added.
The minister said that the government was committed towards rebuilding Kodagu on priority.
