The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) district president Muneer Katipalla filed a complaint before the Lokayukta against the former Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) commissioner P G Ramesh in connection with the allegation of disposal of 298 official files within a single day.

Katipalla stated in the complaint that the commissioner, who was transferred from MCC, has violated norms by signing 298 files, on his last working day without proper scrutiny.

Katipalla alleged that the commissioner had cleared files before obtaining site inspection reports from the engineers concerned. Moreover, permission was also granted for a 25 story building. “An inquiry should be conducted by the Lokayukta to unearth the facts,” he urged adding that action should be recommended against the guilty.
