Inaugurating the Agricultural information week at B R Ambedkar Vana organised by the Agricultural Department he said that due to the population explosion and we are lagging behind in food production. During natural calamities like floods and droughts we have to depend on other countries for food.

The Agricultural Department should function as a centre of information for the farmers, he added.

Zilla Panchayat member Mudimadu Rangaiah, who spoke on the occasion, said that if the government provides water and eduction for the farmers, the food crisis in the state can he solved.

Taluk Panchayat President Lakshmamma, Taluk Panchayat member Shanthamma, Deputy agricultural director Nagaraj, Zilla Panchayat member Mudimadu Rangaiah, Joint director Shankar and others were present on the occasion.
