Learning labs would be set up at schools with over 150 students and more than seven teachers with good classroom facilities, using the same resources provided by the education department. It is a known fact that most students usually fail in English and mathematics.

The labs will concentrate on qualitative teaching, imparting a good learning experience for students at the middle school so that these subjects turn easy for them. This will also bring good results, hope teachers.

About 10 government schools in Chamarajanagar, including a school on Uppara Beedi. Another 84 learning labs would be set up in the district. In the school, which would host the lab, two classrooms would be chosen with one for English and another for mathematics.

Classes 6 and 7 would be merged and sessions would be engaged depending upon the availability of furniture and learning aids. Training would be mostly interactive, Chaitanya-2 training too would be given alongside.

Training has been given to teachers in the new method — based on the potential of students, texts available, books of reference, complimentary literature, and teaching and learning aids. Emphasis is on supervision and monitoring of learning centres.

One resource person would be entrusted with the responsibility of five schools. Two clusters together would have one resource team. Analysis of learning centres would be done by BRC at taluk level. The success of learning centres would sure bring great news for many more students and schools.
