Speaking to press persons on the sidelines of people’s contact programme at Siddapura police station on Wednesday, he said the department wants to provide housing facilities to all those who are in service. At present, 50 per cent of the personnel are residing in quarters. We are making all efforts to provide housing facilities to the personnel.

“Public have good opinion on police department in the district. The department is rendering its service as per the expectation of the public.” He urged the public to contact him directly if the police fail to respond to a case.  Zilla Panchayat Member Kolleera Dharmaja urged the IGP to keep an eye on the labourers who come from outside during coffee harvest.

Reacting to it, IGP said that he will urge ASI to hold talks with the village head to collect information on the outsiders who come to the district as labourers. Superintendent of Police Manjunath Annigeri, DySP J D Prakash, Siddapura Chamber of Commerce President M S Venkatesh, GP President V K Basheer and others were present.
