The district administration will take necessary measures to ensure that voters are not denied of their rights in exercising their franchise in the upcoming Assembly polls, said Deputy Commissioner K P Mohanraj.

Speaking at a meeting with the representatives of various political parties, leaders of organisations and associations, he said that booth-level officers, staff and agents would be appointed to review the voters’ list, and to prevent any confusions during polling.

He also appealed to the associations and general public to extend their cooperation for peaceful conduct of the elections. The process of inclusion, verification, deletion was in progress, and would continue up to the time of filing of nominations. Steps were being taken to prevent any confusions in the voters list that had come to fore during previous elections, he said.

All grade 1 and 2 tahsildars attended the meeting along with additional DC Dr H N Goplakrishna and others.
