With the onset of summer and examinations fast approaching, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Friday directed the escoms to ensure a continuous supply of power in the interest of farmers and students. Kumaraswamy, who reviewed the power situation in the state, was told that the power outages in Bengaluru city, were due to some technical snags.

He asked the officials to rectify the glitches at the earliest. Officials, however, claimed that the power position in the state was presently stable and that there was sufficient water in the dams. With an installed capacity of 27,926 MW, the department was equipped to meet the demand in the coming months, the officials added.
