The injured, Tushar Singh is out of danger and has been admitted to a hospital.
The incident happened on Rashtrpathi Road when Tushar, a native of Delhi, and his friend Kumar Mansoor from Patna were buying a few items from a shop.

In his complaint, Kumar said a youth appeared before Tushar and warned him to stay away from a girl. This led to a heated argument between the two. The youth, who disappeared was back within minutes along with a group of 4-5 men on motorbikes.
The assailants once again picked up a quarrel with Tushar and began thrashing him. One of the group members chased and stabbed him on the back and sped away, he said.

Soon, Tushar was shifted to District hospital. Tushar is a third semester student in PES College. Following the attack, chaos prevailed in the nearby PES college as students and lecturers rushed to the hospital. A few students staged a protest demanding the arrest of assailants near the college.

Police suspect that the fight was over a girl’s issue. “We are carrying out the investigation. The culprits will soon be arrested,’’ a senior police official said.
