Speaking to reporters, he said the Government will give only 20,193 acre land to the company as per the court order. “We have not given an inch of excess land to the company,” he stated.

Asked about the 16th high level committee agenda copy, which stated that the KIADB had handed over 554 acre excess land to the company under the peripheral road component, Udasi, however, said he is not aware of the agenda copy.

On the demand for denotifying excess land acquired for the project, the Minister said excess land has not been acquired and so, the question of denotification does not arise.

The PWD has in the agenda copy stated that the KIADB has acquired about 7,000 acre of excess land for toll road component of the project. Against the requirement of 6,999 acre, the KIADB has issued preliminary notification to acquire 12,637 acre under the road component.

The Minister said the PWD has started construction of 15 residential quarters for the cabinet ministers in Hebbal at a cost of Rs 45 crore. The project will be completed by May 2011, he added.

‘BMIC not under PWD’

Udasi reiterated that the BMIC project does not come under the PWD. “The project comes under the Infrastructure Development department and not the PWD. So, I am not the competent person to reply to the media queries,” he stated.

The PWD in reality is the nodal department to implement the BMIC project.
