A bullock was killed on the spot and a person sustained grievous injuries as a bullock cart fell into a road-side open well near Booragamakalahalli on the outskirts of the town, on Tuesday.
The incident occurred as the bullocks of cart, which one Subbanna was riding, ran amok pushing the cart to a well. Subbanna has been admitted to the government hospital with grievous injuries. Revenue Department officials have visited the spot and submitted a report assessing the damage at Rs 45,000.
Zilla Panchayat member Kariyanna and Taluk Panchayat prersident Manjunath, visited the hospital and disbursed an interim ex-gratia of Rs 5,000. They have sought compensation to the farmer who has sustained loss in the
accident.
