Members of Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Annies Kanmani Joy on Saturday, requesting to convene a meeting of farmers and clear the hurdles in the sale of dry paddy straws.

A delegation led by farmer leader and Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene district president Kadyamadaya Manu Somaiah met the deputy commissioner in this regard and said that there are legal hurdles in the sale of paddy straws. The high court has issued a stay on the DC’s order banning the transportation of paddy straws to Kerala.

The deputy commissioner assured the farmers that she will do the needful.
