Finance Commission members to visit Kodagu in October

Assistant commissioner Dr Nanjundegowda directed the officials of the urban local bodies to provide accurate information sought in the questionnaire of the Fourth Finance Commission.

Speaking at a workshop organised at the DC’s office here on Friday, he said questionnaires will be given urban local bodies. The information sought must be filled in and sent online. Assistant Engineer, junior engineer, health inspectors, revenue inspectors and accountant consultant have their own roles to play in providing the information. The grants will be allocated to the urban local bodies based on the information provided, he said.

The commission has been set up to manage the financial relations between the Centre and the states. Action plans up to 2020 has been prepared by the commission on the basis of the recommendations of the urban local bodies, he said.

City Municipal Council assistant executive engineer K M Ravikumar said the commision’s members will visit the district in October. Necessary preparations must be done in this regard, he said.
