Financial assistance must for martyrs family: JudgePeoples cooperation essential to curb crime

Speaking after placing a wreath to the stupa here in connection with the Police Martys Day, the judge complimented the police in protecting peace and tranquillity in society. It is also duty of the citizens to remember those police personnel who have died while performing duty.

Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat, S T Anjankumar said it was worth remembering the duty of police who fight with evil forces to ensure a healthy society. Superintendent of Police K V Sharatchandra read out the names of all police personnel who sacrificed their lives on duty  in 2009-10. The police fired three rounds in the air as a mark of respect.

Additional Superintendent of Police K Yallappa also spoke. In Chamarajanagar, the District principal and Sessions Judge A C Vidyadhar wanted the state government to extend financial assistance to families of police martyrs.

Speaking at the police martyrs day held at District Police Parade grounds here on Thursday, he said working in police department was not easy. They receive both bouquets and brickbats from citizens.
