The High Grounds police have registered an FIR against KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao for exhorting Kannadigas to beat Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with slippers if he visits the state.
Rao had, on April 14, made the controversial statement, while condemning cases of sexual assaults and rapes in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh.
Following Rao’s statement in public, Ramachari, a resident of Rajajinagar, filed a complaint with the police, seeking action against him for provoking his supporters and for hurting the religious sentiments of Adityanath’s followers.
