Four car workshops, five cars parked inside a workshop and two petty shops were gutted in a massive fire near Tippu Circle in the city on Saturday morning.
The fire broke out in a garage at 2.30 am and spread to the other shops.
The locals alerted the Fire and Safety Services personnel who reached the spot at 3 am. After nearly two hours, the personnel managed to douse the fire at 5 am.
N R Police, who are investigating the case, said that the reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
