Two  cases of chikungunya had been reported from the  government hospitals in the taluk. The case is on rise in the taluk, according to sources.

Fogging had been undertaken in each of the wards, from the past two days, to prevent the proliferation of mosquitoes. TMC officials Amarnarayana and Venkataram have under taken the task of fogging under the leadership of health inspector Murali. Maintenance of sanitation has been stressed.

TMC member Chandrashekar has urged the government hospitals to have  adequate stock of required medicines, as a preventive measure.
