A six-year-old male leopard was captured by forest department officials in Muniyappanadoddi, Ramanagaram taluk, on Thursday morning.  

Forest department officials had laid a trap for the leopard on Wednesday.  

The leopard had been causing havoc in the surrounding villages by terrorising people and killing livestock. Villagers had been pressuring the department to capture the mischievous feline.

Forest officers said that the leopard would released back into the wild after a medical examination.
