Four arrested for attempt to sell pangolin

Forest Department personnel arrested four people for attempting to sell a pangolin near Vasthare in Chikkamagaluru taluk on Saturday. The pangolin has been seized.

Moganna Gowda of Elekhan, plantation workers Ganesh, Mallesh and Rajashekar are the arrested. The accused were transporting the endangered mammal in a van.

Regional Forest Officer Shilpa said that the accused had captured the pangolin in the plantation by laying a trap.

Forest Department staff Venkatesh, Narayana, Umesh, Purushottam and Asif took part in the arrest.
