The police have identified the deceased as Tanu Ningappa Bhajantri (5), Raksha Bhajantri (3) and 13-month-old twins Hasan and Husain. Fishermen rescued the woman named Bhagya from drowning in the canal.

Upset over domestic disputes, Bhagya may have decided to take the extreme step, the police said.
