The Zilla Panchayat progress review meeting on Monday had special moments, in that four MLAs of the district took part for the first time after several months, as opposed to only one or two of them participating usually.
Chikkaballapur MLA K P Bachegowda, Chintamani MLA M C Sudhakar, Bagepalli MLA N Sampangi and Shidlaghatta MLA V Muniyappa were present. They urged district incharge Minister A Narayanaswamy to solve the problems in their constituencies, like power and water scarcity. Decisions are taken at progress review meetings to solve the problems, but nothing happens on the ground, they said.
They sought more government funds to provide drought relief.
