The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) has suspended four lecturers who were designated as exam invigilators for the II PU exams conducted this March.

The department recently found irregularities in the invigilation as some of the students were learnt to have written the exam by entering register numbers of other candidates. The department, in fact, had to withhold the results of several candidates consequently.

Without revealing the identities of the lecturers, director of DPUE Sushama Godbole confirmed that orders were issued for the suspension of four lecturers. A departmental inquiry is in progress and any further suspension will follow the inquiry report, she said. However, sources said more suspensions are in line and eight more invigilators are likely to be suspended over the next few days.

Date extended
Meanwhile, making way for more candidates to apply for revaluation, the department has extended the deadline up to 5.30 pm on June 9. The revaluation results will be announced on June 14, according to a recent announcement. Students can apply for revaluation through BangaloreOne and KarnatakaOne centres, the officials said.
