Four students drown in Nethravati river

Four students from Beary Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore drowned in Nethravati river at Innoli near Konaje on Sunday evening.

According to police, 12 students from BIT had been to Innoli to spend their holiday. The boys were playing football on the river bank. Five of them jumped into the river to find the ball, which had bounced while playing.

Among them - Suban, Safan, Sifan and Vinaz - drowned, while Farooq was rescued. He is now recuperating in a private hospital in the City.  The Police and the Fire personnel continued their search operation till night, but failed to trace the bodies. All the five are from Kerala.

B’lore youth drowns

A youth from Bangalore fell into the Gaganachukki Falls and drowned on Sunday.
Prithviraj (25), son of Nagaiah from RT Nagar in Bangalore, was an advertisement representative for a private company. He had come to the to the Falls along with his friends. The body has been retrieved.
