Setting aside the reports and rumours of BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur’s alleged involvement in the murder of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case on Thursday clarified that the former has no role in the crime that shocked the state.

SIT’s clarification comes close on the heels of a few media reports on alleged involvement of the Sadhvi in the incident. In its official clarification, SIT sleuths said: “SIT has not found in its investigation or mentioned in the chargesheet any link to Sadhvi Pragya. There is no shred of evidence to suggest the same. No documents purporting the same have been submitted to the honourable court.”

The cops till date has arrested 16 accused in the case while two miscreants are still at large. Gauri Lankesh was shot dead at point blank range outside her residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on September 5, 2017.
