A subtle political campaign was conducted by Bengaluru Development and Town Planning Minister K J George in the name of inspection of rain affected areas on Thursday.

As the state assembly elections are nearing, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) seems to have left no stone turned to lure voters through their campaigns disguised in the name of inspection.

George undertook the inspection of rain affected areas in Bommanahalli zone. He was accompanied with Mayor R Sampath Raj, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad and all other senior officials from BBMP, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), and Bangalore Electricity Supply company (BESCom).

As all officers had come in their own cars, it resulted in a serpentine traffic jam on the narrow roads of the Bommanahalli zone. There were about 60 cars blocking the path.

The Minister was welcomed by bursting fire crackers and flowers.
