Good rain in Shivamogga, Davangere

A couple of places in the State received good rainfall on Wednesday. After a brief lull, Davangere and other parts of the district received brisk rains on Wednesday.

Water was seen overflowing from clogged drains and most of the roads were waterlogged. For the last 20 days, Davangere used to receive mild showers. However, Wednesday rains has made farmers cheerful, who were otherwise worried over scarcity of rainfall.

Moderate to heavy rains continued to lash several parts of Shivamogga district on Wednesday.

Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Sagar, Sorab and some parts of Shikaripur received good spell of rains. The intensity of rains has increased in malnad region. Water level in Linganamakki dam rose to 1783.75 feet against the maximum level of 1819 feet. The inflow of water was  11, 959 cusecs as catchment area received rainfall of 55.2mm. The outflow was 4, 525 cusecs. Chikkaballapur town and parts of the district have recorded good rainfall in the evening.
