Inaugurating the programme Prof Byramangala Rame Gowda expressed apprehension over the diminishing bond between teacher and his pupil in urban areas.
A good teacher is one who imparts knowledge about life, future and application of education in life, Rame Gowda said.
Principal Dr Ramegowda presided over the function. Dr Banjagere Jayaprakash was the chief guest.
Singer Muni Reddy, Head of Kannada Department Jayashree, Lecturer Somashekhar and others were present on the occasion.
Freshers were welcomed and meritorious students were felicitated on the occasion.
