Samaja Parivartana Samudaya (SPS) chief S R Hiremath said on Saturday that the government was colluding with land mafia in the Joy Ice Cream case.

He told reporters that Additional Advocate General A G Shivanna had not filed a written submission, though the High Court had given adequate time. Shivanna wrote to government officials suggesting that the land sold by Joy Ice Cream to Prestige Estates Projects Private Limited be regularised, instead of cancelling the sale deed.

On August 19, Shivanna brought to the notice of Justice Ram Mohan Reddy that the High Court division bench had observed that Prestige company had no locus standi to question the order of cancellation of land allotment, as Joy Ice Cream violated the terms and conditions of the allotment by KIADB.

But, he did not file written submissions later, Hiremath said, adding that Shivanna’s act was unacceptable.

“Home Minister K J George and his companies are involved in this case and they are desperately trying to save three acres and 23 guntas of land grabbed at Pattanduru Agrahara in Bengaluru. The SPS has filed written submissions before the High Court and has sought the dismissal of the writ petition filed by Prestige company,” Hiremath said.
