Speaking to reporters, he said CM Yeddyurappa’s reply to the Governor in this regard recently, shows that it has not even opened the report. “I am glad that at least the Governor is concerned about this serious issue,” he stated.
The Lokayukta was reacting to the CM’s assurance to the Governor that the government will look into the Lokayukta report and take action against illegal mining. Governor H R Bhardwaj had recently written a strong letter to the CM drawing his attention to the issue. About his second report on illegal mining, justice Hegde said he will submit it to the government shortly. However, he said, it will not be related to the first report.
