Ramadorai, who is on a visit to 26 states to study skill development programmes adopted by the governments, met Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and Labour Minister B N Bacche Gowda on Tuesday.
He suggested the government to look at innovative solutions to tackle the faculty shortage.
Bacche Gowda said he had urged the Union government to sanction 100 more ITIs to the State for the next academic year. However, more than 1,400 ITIs in the State face acute shortage of junior training officers.
Skill development
Ramadorai advised the government to coordinate with all the departments, pool the money set aside for training programmes and utilise the funds for skill development programme.
He said the government had conducted 33 mega job fairs at the district and divisional levels and 176 mini fairs at the taluk level.
Of the 4.75 lakh boys and girls who participated in the fairs, around 3.53 lakh are being presently trained.
The minister told reporters that the trainers were now being paid an incentive of Rs 15 per hour and he requested the advisor to double the amount.
