Speaking to reporters, the minister said Karnataka High Court with respect to a case regarding admission to deemed universities through CET had favoured the government in its judgement.

Meeting

The government recently held a meeting with representatives of deemed universities. So far there has been no concrete fall out of the discussions. Many more meetings will be held in future in this regard. There are eight deemed universities, each with an intake of 100 seats. If the universities agreed to reserve 25 per cent seats for CET students, the government would get 200 medical seats, he said.

The minister said all medical seats in government and aided colleges have been filled up. However, as many as 371 seats in the dental colleges have remained vacant.
