Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar said the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in Karnataka, will fall on the day it takes up cabinet expansion.

Speaking to the media in Hubballi on Wednesday, he said: "I can give in writing that the cabinet expansion will not take place on October 12, as said by the chief minister and deputy chief minister".

"They have assured 12 to 15 MLAs of cabinet posts. There are only six vacancies. The disgruntled MLAs will bring down the government. BJP won't intervene in this regard," he claimed.
