Bhagya Jyothi (34) a member of Singaramaranahalli GP is the victim. The incident occurred when she was walking towards the bus stand after attending divorce case in a local court.
Jyothi had moved town court five years ago, seeking divorce from Dinesh. On Tuesday too the case had come up for hearing and the case had been adjourned.
Jyothi was walking on Kirijaji road, when she was attacked by a man on two-wheeler later identified as her husband, with a sharp weapon. According to an eye-witness, the victim was caught unawares as she was attacked from behind. The assailant, though blood soaked, managed to flee even as the alert passersby made a bid to nab him. Town police have registered a case and are investigating.
