Tamarind lollypops, a tangy-spicy lollipop from the granny’s trove of goodies are making children ask for more, thanks to thoughtful efforts of writer S Raghunath.

Raghunath demonstrated the preparation of tamarind lollypops at a recent programme on easy and healthy snacks that can be prepared at schools in Shidlaghatta.The tasty, tangy lollypops are made of tamarind pulp mixed with salt, pepper powder, ginger powder and jaggery. According to Raghunath, tamarind lollypops help in digestion and with absolutely no artificial flavours, they are healthy.


Raghunath said it was essential for parents to convince children on the need for healthy eating and that there are many eatables beyond chocolates, toffees and
cookies.
