Bundh call given by the Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI) evoked good response with owners of shops, business establishments, educational institutions downing their shutters in the City. The NEKRTC as a precautionary measure had withdrawn the services and same was restored after 2 pm. No untoward incident was reported.

A number of organisations, political parties, Bar association and others supported the bundh.

A massive procession was taken out from the Super Market to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, where a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was submitted to the deputy commissioner. Memorandum sought to undo the injustice done to the region which was part of the erstwhile Hyderabad State of Nizam.
It cautioned the Centre that divisive tendencies may raise their ugly heads demanding for a separate state, if the benefit of the Article 371 (d) was not extended at the earliest. The procession was led among others by Hyderabad Karnataka Horata Samithi President Vaijanath Patil and others.
