Talking to reporters here, he said he appreciated the gesture of Janardhan Reddy, Karunakar Reddy and B Sriramulu for batting in favour of Gulihatti at the time of distress.
It was those Independents who supported the BJP while it was facing short of numbers to form the government with the simple majority.
Even enemies would appreciate such a move by the Reddy brothers, he added.
Deve Gowda said “my family members and Reddy brothers have been involved in many accusations and counter accusations on various issues. Previously, they revolted against Yeddyurappa may be for their selfish reasons. But this time they stood like a rock behind Gulihatti and pressurised the CM not to drop him. It was same Yeddyurappa who cried betrayal against the then Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy when Janata Dal (Secular) withdrew support. I will not accuse anybody now, but will speak at a right time”.
The former PM complimented the newly inducted Ministers and asked the Government to concentrate on development atleast from now onwards.
Unscientific
Earlier, Deve Gowda who participated in the review meeting of the Central sponsored projects at Zilla Panchayat here, criticised the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme and said he would not support the scheme. He termed the programme as unscientific and useless scheme.
The Centre had projected it as an ambitious scheme only to get political mileage out of it. But, the same programme would be threat to the Government,” he opined.
He alleged the scheme was riddled with irregularities and violation of guidelines.
Fifty Per Cent of the amount under the programme is reserved for payment to labourers, 40 per cent for purchasing raw materials.
It is a common sense that the raw materials would cost more than labour charges, he said.
