The petitioners had expressed their apprehensions regarding the availability of textbooks and had challenged the order dated January 28, 2010 stating that the textbooks will not be sold in the stalls.
The schools submitted that they were denied textbooks when they applied for it saying that they cannot be given English books as they were Kannada medium schools.
KMIMF had filed an interlocutory application seeking directions to make the textbooks available to schools.
The Additional Advocate General in his submission said that the textbooks will be supplied and there will be discrimination as alleged. He further said that the schools can submit their indent to the concerned Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) so that the required text books will be made available.
