The High Court has allowed the students of fifth semester diploma to attend classes.

Hearing a petition by over 300 diploma students, who had moved the High Court challenging the government order not to admit students who had failed in more than eight subjects and seeking directions to extend the carryover system to all the subjects, Justice Ram Mohan Reddy allowed the students to attend classes without getting admission.

During the hearing, when the court asked why is it that they had not introduced the carryover system, the government submitted that it had increased the ceiling for carryover subjects from four to eight, considering the percentage of failed candidates.
