Heavy rain lashed parts of Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Hassan, Tumakuru and Ballari districts on Sunday.

Banakal and Balooru hobli in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district received good spell of rain. Strong winds blew away the roof of a house in Mudigere.

Hosapete and its surroundings received heavy rain for a brief period towards Sunday evening. It rained in the town for about 30 minutes on Saturday too. The showers have brought relief for the people from sweltering heat.

A woman was killed in lightning strike at Badalankalagi village in Belagavi taluk. The deceased has been identified as Rudravva Chandrappa Kudyanatti (28) a resident of Badalankalgi.

A 12-year-old boy was killed and five others were injured in two separate incidents of lightning strikes reported in Chamarajanagar and Hassan districts on Sunday.
Manu of Tenkaluhundi in Gundlupet taluk, Chamarajanagar district, was struck dead by lighting.

Five members of a family in Madagatta in Belur taluk, in Hassan district, are severely injured when lightning struck them.

Heavy rain, accompanied by thunder and lighting, lashed Belur town and parts of taluk. Parts of Mysuru, including Periyapatna, Nanjangud and HD Kote received thunder showers on Sunday evening.

Showers, coupled with strong winds, uprooted several full-grown trees in Turuvekere and parts of the taluk in Tumakuru district.
