Parts of Mysuru region received good rain on Sunday. While Mysuru city received moderate rain in the evening, Srirangapatna and Pandavapura in Mandya district received heavy rain.

Electricity poles were uprooted while tree branches came crashing down in Srirangapatna, disrupting vehicular traffic on Mysuru-Bengaluru highway for a while. Keregodu, Koppa and surrounding areas too received heavy rain.

Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning  lashed  Nanjangud taluk, Chamarajanagar and Male Mahadeshwara Hill.

In Hassan district, temple towns – Belur and Halebid – received moderate to heavy rain. A buffalo was killed due to lightning at Mathighatta village and roof of several houses were blown away by gusty winds.

According to Organic Farming Research Station in Naganahalli, Mysuru, light rainfall would continue in parts of Mysuru region till Tuesday.
