Heavy rain lashed several parts of North Karnataka districts of Dharwad, Gadag and Bagalkot on Sunday.

It rained in Dharwad for the fifth consecutive day. The city received rain accompanied by thunder, lightning and gusty winds for more than an hour in the afternoon, affecting normal life.

The PB Road at many places in the city was flooded due with rainwater, hampering movement of vehicles. Mercury came down due to the downpour.
Rainwater gushed into houses in low-lying areas and residents were seen draining the water. It rained in Hubballi towards the evening. Strong winds brought down huge branches of many trees at various areas in the city.

The twin cities of Gadag and Betageri received good rain for more than 30 minutes. There were reports of rain from Mulgund, Mundaragi, Lakshmeshwar, Shirahatti and Naregal. Roads were flooded as rain water overflowed from clogged drains.  Rainwater gushed into low-lying areas. Gadag has been receiving rain for the past two weeks as a result of which temperature came down to 36 degrees Celsius.

Heavy rain accompanied by hailstones and strong winds lashed Almatti in Bagalkot district. More than 15 trees were uprooted by gusty winds, affecting power supply. Parts of Nagamangala taluk in Mandya district received good rains.
