Kodagu and Belagavi districts received heavy and widespread rains on Wednesday. It rained heavily in Belagavi and Khanapur taluks while there were reports of mild showers in Bailhongal.

Heavy downpour in Khanapur led to floods in Alatari nallah near Manturga village in the taluk. Traffic had come to a halt on Sindhanur-Hemmadga state highway.

Heavy rains in catchment areas in Maharashtra pushed up the inflow into River Krishna. Chikkodi and Saundatti taluks received occasional drizzle.

Kodagu district received widespread rains. In the last 24 hours, the district recorded an average of 21.07 mm rains. The water-level in Harangi reservoir stood at 2,857.60 feet.

Moderate rains lashed various parts of Shivamogga district. Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Sagar, Shikaripur and Sorab received moderate rains intermittently throughout the day.

However, water level in Linganamakki dam in Sagar taluk rose to 1781.70 feet against the maximum of 1,819 feet following good rains in catchment areas.
