Rain continued to lash Mysuru region on Saturday night, and owing to the heavy downpour, a bridge collapsed and several houses got damaged.
A bridge in Jakkalli village in Kollegal taluk in Chamarajanagar district collapsed following the pre-monsoon showers. The wall of a public library at Sattegala village in the taluk also collapsed and an under construction drainage in Ponacchi near Male Mahadeshwara Hill got severely damaged.
Two houses collapsed at Hedatale village in Nanjangud taluk in Mysuru district on Sunday while ten houses and a check dam in the village were severly damaged on Saturday. MP R Dhruvanarayan and MLA Kalale N Keshavamurthy visited the village and promised compensation for the victims. Mysuru city and parts of the district also received good rain.
Similarly, Hassan and Mandya districts too received good rain.
